Player Development

Marpole Soccer Club's Player Development is run by our Technical Director Dino Anastopulos.  Dino is a FIFA licensed player agent and has been   involved with soccer for over 25 years. 

A European player placement company gave Dino the exclusive representation rights to identify young talent for the CONCACAF and CONMEBOL REGIONS (www.footballtalentshop.com)

In addition to the following:

        - Goalkeeping Level 3 Diploma NSCAA

         - Advanced National Diploma NSCAA

        - BC Provincial C Certification (under previous standards)

for  educational purposes, Dino regularly visits and is invited to visit pro team  trainings and academy trainings in Europe.

Brief Bio:

  • -has been involved with coaching soccer for over 25 years 

  • -coached U19 Vancouver Selects team one  of the years that a team at the U19 age group was allowed to play in youth soccer.  The players on this team were U17 aged players 

  • -coached the 2002 and 2012 Zone 5 BC Summer Games boys soccer teams

  • -licensed coach with his provincial C certification (under the old certification standards),NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, NSCAA Goalkeeping Level 3

  • -licensed FIFA agent

  • -has been sending players to play professional in Europe and to the US since the mid 90's

  • -currently has players playing in Europe in Germany and Greece (one of which is the third back up goalkeeper in WC 2010 South Africa for the national team of Portugal)

  • -2011 placed one of his own players with TFC of the MLS and this player capped May 29, 2010 with the Canadian Mens National Team

  • -continues to coach and is currently coaching in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League (the "VMSL") since 1994.

  • -board member of the VMSL since 2000 

  • -looks for talent and trains players to enhance their skills and chances when sending them overseas for tryouts with professional clubs

  • -has personally trained and continues to work with the players the players he has solely placed abroad 

  • -for educational purposes, regularly visits and is invited to visit pro team trainings and academy trainings in Europe

  • -Technical Director for the Marpole Soccer Club

  • -recipient of the 2012/2013 4District Pioneer Award for Vancouver for years devoted to volunteer work with youth soccer
